Swanpool Creek farm is a place where you can retreat to rest and relax. You can lie in bed and enjoy the garden through the picture window, sip a cup of tea in the breakfast room or read a book on the chaise lounge on the verandah. Or venture further afield…



You can stroll through private gardens, nap on a picnic rug, enjoy the sunset over the ranges and in the nightime, marvel at the endless stars in the sky. Depending on the time of year you can see kangaroos, wombats and echidnas and enjoy the amazing birdlife in the garden.
Nearby you can have a night out at the Swanpool Cinema or Tatong Tavern or enjoy a very good coffee and cake at the local antiques barn – open on Sundays. You can spend the day being driven around our little known local vineyards and wineries. Further afield you can spend the day in the Alpine National park and take a scenic helicopter flight or go 4W Driving, walking, hiking, mountain biking or horse riding.

Behind The Wine Tour
North East Vineyard Tours offer door to door pick-up from Swanpool Creek B&B. Your visit can include 3 or 4 vineyards in the Swanpool/Broken River Valley where vignerons and winemakers can show you their craft and offer you a range of locally grown wines to try.
Explore more of the north-east and visit the wineries and breweries in the King Valley Wine Region, Beechworth Wine Region, Glenrowan Wine Region or Rutherglen Wine Regions.

Tatong Tavern
The Tavern is an English Style Country Inn situated in the small community of Tatong only 12km from here. The Tavern Bar recreates the comfortable atmosphere of a traditional English country pub, complete with log fires, comfortable seating and fabulous beer.
The Tavern restaurant boasts hearty meals most days of the week with a diverse menu crammed solid with mouth watering food. Swanpool Cinema
For over 22 years Swanpool Cinema has been screening the best of art house and quality movies, usually as a double feature on Saturday and Sunday nights. Kooyonga Creek Winery
Less than 5min away is the Kooyonga Creek Cellar door where you can taste and buy a range of wines grown on the 8ha family vineyard. Vines were planted in 2000 and include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Luis Simian is the winemaker and has a track record of success in North East Victoria and overseas and already has made an impact with the introduction of a King Valley Pinot Grigio for the 2017 and a 2018 Rose that brings together each of their estate grown reds.

Swanpool Butter Factory Antiques
These historic buildings were a dairy co-operative and a butter factory were established in the 1890s, later becoming the Swanpool and Moorngag Butter Making and Dairy Co-op which operated until the 1970s.
Today it is home to the Swanpool Butter Factory Antiques where you can fossick through vintage treasures, rustic collectables and a range of wonderful old furniture.
Sit in amongst the antiques and enjoy a really good coffee and tea with home made cakes.

Mt Samaria, Mt Stirling and Mt Buller
Take a 30min scenic drive through tall eucalyptus forests to Mt Samaria and walk 30min to the top to see spectacular views of the Strathbogies Ranges and the Broken River Valley.
Continue driving to Mansfield and on the way stop to see granite outcrops, waterfalls and historic remains. From Mansfield, drive 30-45min to Mt Stirling and Mt Buller in the Alpine National Park known for its stunning mountain peaks, waterfalls and high plains.
Mt Buller is a resort village with downhill ski and toboganning slopes. Mt Stirling has backcountry (cross country) skiing and snowboarding.
